For Penelope Kokkinides, one would imagine her leading a super busy life as the Chief Administration Officer at InnovaCare. Nonetheless, despite the hectic schedules and life on air, she still finds time for herself and family.
A typical day for Ms. Kokkinides means catching a flight after another, rushing from one meeting to the next. It’s a life she loves as every day presents a different challenge she is more than willing to tackle. Penelope’s passion has always been helping and interacting with people wherever she goes. She is one of the few people lucky enough to have discovered their dream at an early age.
In High School, Penelope Kokkinides defied the norm by taking a job as a receptionist at a dental office. This was her first time to interact with clientele on a more professional level than the average high schooler working at a diner. Her people-person skills were honed, coming in handy when she later secured the job of store floater at a Manhattan mega store. She handled all sorts of clients, enjoyed her daily duties and walked home each month with a decent paycheck.
As the CAO at InnovaCare, Penelope cherishes her departmental team who help formulate and push ideas together. She also has technology to thank for making interconnectivity between people easier and faster than before. This accomplished CAO cannot imagine a life without her email account and Skype.
In her own words, technology is the backbone of today’s world, changing how business is conducted and how people interact. With innovative tools like video conferencing and video sharing, Penelope is more than glad to be traveling less and using her extra time to connect with people. What makes Penelope Kokkinides a top achiever in what she does is the power of asking ‘Why’ before ‘What’, ‘When’ and ‘How’.
She prioritizes her day by listing all important projects, then deciding which of these projects she will accomplish first. It helps keep things running and give her the peace of mind and energy to look forward to another day. Penelope makes it her business to always stay informed on health care trends, and has subscribed to publications from the likes of STAT News, CNN, Modern Healthcare and Politico.
One advice Penelope Kokkinides would give to anyone striving to achieve in their fields is to read the book “Start with Why” by Simon Sinek.
